1939-2025  Diplômé de la Faculté de Théologie de Talbot (USA), le Dr John MacArthur était pasteur principal de «l’Eglise de la Grâce» de Sun Valley (Californie). Conférencier et professeur réputé, il animait un programme quotidien d’évangélisation diffusé sur plus de 1000 stations de radio en Amérique du Nord, en Europe, en Afrique et en Océanie.  il est connu pour ses prises de position parfois très fermes et claires et son désir d’attachement à la Parole et la prédication textuelle. Il aura consacré sa vie à une théologie rigoureuse, fondée sur l’étude approfondie des Écritures en mettant l’accent sur l’arrière plan grammatical et historique de chaque passage. Il laisse derrière lui l’héritage de milliers de prédications, d’une série de commentaires complète du Nouveau Testament et près de 150 livres édités dont de nombreux ont été traduits en français. Il est également le rédacteur de la remarquable Bible d'étude portant son nom, éditée par la Société Biblique de Genève.
